Week 4 of 2017 looked like this:
A lone red leaf.
This is as close as these two get to snuggling.
Oh to be a cat.
It stopped raining, finally.
I go back to work in just a week. I’m dealing with it by planning the shit out of everything. #typeA
And also by nesting like crazy. Is it still considered nesting if my baby is already born?
I found some old baby photos while organizing stuff. This is me at 5 weeks old. It’s easy to see where Jack gets his baby good looks, amirite?
Though, sometimes when he smiles I think he looks just like baby Robbie.
I took a rare nap with him this week because I could. I tried not to think about how I won’t be home with him much anymore very soon.
Pro tip: if you order your burrito in a bowl you can add a lot more things.
ALL OF THE THINGS.
Robbie is home on a little baby bonding time this week, so I got out for a rare few hours to myself. I spent most of it at my favorite coffee shop with a coloring book.
It felt like I hadn’t done this in FOREVER.
“Storms make trees take deeper roots.”
I also stopped at the bookstore. This display at the cash register was obviously no accident.
It felt luxurious to stop and read poetry.
I had always heard the name of Sylvia Plath, but I must confess that I had never read any of her work until now. It really spoke to me.
It’s been so nice to see blue skies again for a change.
Flooooower.
Look at this monkey! He’s almost figured out that bath time can be a pleasant experience.
Happy Friday!
Have any of you ever actually taken advantage of one of these “free libraries”? It seems like such a romantic idea, but I can never commit to it.
Jack isn’t sure about the park just yet. Give it time, kid.
I had to leave James home alone for an hour while I went to a doctor appointment on Saturday. I came back with donuts and chocolate milk because I am cool mom.
It’s got the word “cupcake” on the label and it doesn’t require a bottle opener. DUH.
Seeya next week!
