In Real Life: Week 19

Happy Mother’s Day, friends! Let’s take a look at week 19…

Oh what I wouldn’t give to have a yard and rose bushes again.

I made the difficult decision to part ways with my saxophone last Sunday. Those of you who knew me in high school know just how big of a deal this is for me.

But as much as I loved this instrument, and as many wonderful memories are attached to it, I honestly hadn’t touched it once since we moved to California 4 years ago. And I hadn’t played it for many years before that. So it was time.

I made the decision to gift it, rather than sell it, and it went to a darling young boy who is just learning the alto sax and is very excited to pick up the tenor, too. His mom was so gracious, and offered to give it back to me if I ever change my mind. She also promised to send me a picture of him playing it one day. And that’s good enough for me – to know it’s in the hands of someone who will play and love it, and no longer simply collecting dust in my closet. I hope you enjoy it, little Alex, as much as I did. ❤

Hanging with Master Chief on my unexpected day off.

Remember that sunflower I watercolored last weekend? I made it the centerpiece of my little toy-corner collage. It makes me really happy.

Epic sushi date!

Evening light.

I love cheesy jokes.

I found myself with a random craving for some cake and in close proximity to this adorable little shop in downtown Los Gatos.

I ended up with 3 different kinds of baked goods, including a slice of carrot cake and a piece of funfetti pound cake.

My favorite, though, was this little fauxstess cupcake. YUM.

But it was their adorable displays that really charmed me.

Like seriously. Shut up and take my money.

I may or may not have come home with the matching saucer for this cup, and it may or may not be my new favorite jewelry drop spot on my desk.

So many gorgeous flowers in bloom everywhere right now!

Dreamy.

We seriously have the best nanny. She surprised me by cleaning and organizing the boys’ room of her own accord, which was no small task! It looks so good and makes my type-A brain so incredibly happy.

Robbie stuck that little straw behind Jack’s ear and I just couldn’t deal with how much of a little man it made him look, especially with the plaid shirt.

Coffee roasting dreams.

My beautiful Mother’s Day gift from Robbie. Even better was that he had Jack give it to me. /melt

I love these two more than I can explain.

Pato brought crazy beer to share last night. This one hardly even tasted like beer… was more just like yeasty pineapple juice.

Jack was in bed, Rob & Pato were rolling dice, and James was with his mom. So I took some glorious alone time on the patio with my current audiobook and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

My happy window sill.

This one was… interesting. A neat idea, though not entirely what I had hoped for.

How was your week?

Have a happy Sunday!

Take a look into the past…
